Your Unibuddy Ambassador Dashboard allows you to manage Unibuddy Chat conversations, keep your profile current, create written content, and log your time - all from your browser. Here's a walkthrough of what you'll find and how to use it.
Note: Everything covered here is also available in the Unibuddy Ambassador app on mobile. If you're using Community as well as Chat, the app will show both in one inbox - the desktop dashboard currently only shows Chat messages.
You can also only set your Out of Office on the Unibuddy Ambassador app.
đ˝ď¸ Watch the video below, or scroll to read information about your desktop Dashboard.
Your inbox
When you land on the dashboard, you'll be in your inbox. This starts empty and fills up with messages from prospective students reaching out to you on Unibuddy Chat. Reply and read messages here as they come in - aim to respond within 24 hours where you can, even if it's just a quick "got your message, more soon!"
Keeping your profile up to date
Click your thumbnail in the corner, then Profile, then Edit Profile to make changes. This is where you can:
Update your profile photo and other details
Switch your status to alumni if you've graduated, or update it if you've moved on to a Master's, PhD, or graduate study
Change your current area or year of study
Add new favourite classes or modules you're studying this term
Add new hobbies and interests, or remove ones that no longer apply
Update your societies: tick "I'm not part of any societies" if that's changed, or add a new one you've joined
Refresh your bio
Fill in any custom fields your university has added, listed under Other
Don't forget to hit Save once you've made changes. It's worth revisiting your profile periodically - even small updates keep it feeling current and authentic.
Content
From the dashboard, you can:
View written content other Ambassadors at your university have posted
View My Content: anything you've written yourself, which you can go back and edit
Create new written articles using the button provided, whether it's your first post or your fiftieth
There are dedicated modules on creating content later in the training programme if you want more detail on getting started.
Saved Answers
Under the Answers tab, you'll find Saved Answers: pre-written responses you can reuse for common questions.
You'll see some suggested questions to start, and you can refresh these to see new suggestions
If your university has added any, they'll appear here too
Use the button to add your own: choose a topic (e.g. societies), type the question (e.g. "How easy is it to join a society?"), write your answer, then save
Once saved, you can select an answer quickly when replying and edit it before sending - handy for repeat questions, and quicker than writing from scratch each time.
Timesheet
Your timesheet is weekly. Click Time to see your hours for the current week, and you can navigate between weeks to review past activity.
To log added time:
Click Add research time if you've spent time researching answers, writing articles, or filming videos
Add a short description of what you did
Enter the number of hours and minutes
Add the date
Click Add Research
Your dashboard also shows a breakdown of your time across answering messages, research, and writing articles.
Time spent writing articles or answering questions in the desktop Dashboard, or writing articles, filming short videos, answering questions, and participating in Community in the Ambassador app is logged automatically. For everything else - use Research Time.
