Your Content carousel - visible to students exploring your Community

If you use the Unibuddy Chat platform, you'll know that your Ambassador-generated content is a key resource in boosting engagement and keeping your incoming students excited and informed.


If your institution uses both Unibuddy Chat and Unibuddy Community, your published Ambassador-generated Content is displayed within a user-friendly content carousel within your Community Explore tab.

This will showcase your Ambassador's blog post and video previews, to build excitement and give students plenty to engage with. It's a useful resource for students who prefer to read and view content at their own pace, rather than participating publicly in Groups.

Not only does this serve students who are a little more shy, it's also a great way to support students as they make their final decisions, or prepare to enrol. It means you can give your incoming cohort a holistic view of life at your institution.


Can I choose the Content that displays in my Community?

Not currently, no. This is something we are looking to build out in the future, however! For now, all published Content will feed through to your Community carousel. The order they are displayed in is randomly generated. As students scroll to the right, they will see the link to visit your Content platform, to view all of your Ambassador's Content.

Best practice is to audit your Content tab in the University Dashboard each semester, and ensure that the published Content remains relevant and up to date. You can un-publish outdated posts, and request refreshed Content from your Ambassadors, either by using the dashboard Content Prompts, or sending a Broadcast.

πŸ™‹πŸ½β€β™€οΈ Who can add Content?

Only Ambassadors can add Content. If you are a University Admin, and have Content you'd like to add, you can either set up an Ambassador account on an alternative email address and publish it yourself, or ask a trusted Ambassador to submit a blank piece of Content - which you can then edit before publishing under their name.


πŸ“Ό How can ambassadors add Content?

Ambassadors can submit Content in the Unibuddy Ambassador app, or in their Ambassador Dashboard. They will choose from one of the Topics which you have added, give their Content a title, add a cover image, and then create the Content they would like to add - either a written blog post, or a video.


βš–οΈ Are there are size restrictions for content added - i.e. video length, etc?

  • Written Blogs (2000 word limit)

  • Short form videos (a maximum of 90 seconds long)

  • Longer form videos (which have to be uploaded via YouTube if over 90 seconds)

  • Images must be JPEG, PNG, or GIF files


🚫 Why can't my Ambassador submit Content?

You must add Topics in the Content tab within your University Dashboard - this gives your Ambassadors categories to choose between.

Your Ambassador should also ensure that they have added a cover image.
