If your university, school, or college has set up a Community, you’ll be invited to join it. All Communities are invite-only to make sure you have a safe space to connect with classmates.
If you’ve received an invite but are having trouble getting in, here are some tips:
General Troubleshooting Steps
For common access or functionality issues in the Unibuddy app, follow these steps:
Restart your device.
Delete and reinstall the Student Unibuddy app from your device's app store.
Log back into the app using your credentials.
Trying logging on via the desktop: https://community.unibuddy.co/u/login/auth/login
Further advice can be found here.
These steps typically resolve most issues, including error messages like "Oh no! Something went wrong." If the problem persists, gather additional details about the issue and, if possible, provide screenshots or screen recordings for further assistance.
🔑 Already have a Unibuddy account?
If you’ve used Unibuddy before (for example, to chat with a student ambassador), you don’t need to create a new account.
Simply click Login instead of Create your account and sign in with the same email and password.
Forgotten your password? You can reset it using the Forgot password option.
You’ll receive an email with instructions to create a new password. If you don’t see it, please check your spam or junk folder.
Always use the same login method and email address. For example, if your invitation was sent to your personal email address, don’t sign in with a different Google or Apple account, as this can create a duplicate account and prevent access to your Community.
🆕 New to Unibuddy?
Create your account using the same email address where your institution sent the invite.
This ensures your account links correctly to your Community.
🌅 Already in a Community before?
Communities are usually tied to a specific academic year or intake.
If you joined one last year, it may have been deactivated by your institution.
If your institution has created a new Community, you’ll need a new invite from them (and you must still meet their entry criteria). Please contact your institution to confirm. For privacy reasons, Unibuddy Support cannot send or share invites.
🙋🏽♀️ Part of another institution’s Community?
You can use the same Unibuddy login for multiple Communities.
Once logged in, go to the Home tab and use the arrows at the top to switch between Communities.
⚠️ Seeing a Community error message or "no longer valid" link?
Double-check you’re using the invite email address your institution sent you. Invitations are typically sent via email by your university. If you haven’t received one, contact your university for assistance.
Make sure you’re signing in with an existing account if you already have one.
If you need your invite sent to a different email address, please contact your university - they can resend it.
If your invitation link has expired, request a new invite from your university and follow the instructions provided.
For privacy reasons, Unibuddy Support cannot send or share invites.
🙏 Haven’t received an invite yet?
Please contact your university directly.
If they don’t yet have Community enabled, they can reach out to Unibuddy.
If they do, you can request that they send you an invite.
Remember: only your university controls Community invites - Unibuddy Support cannot add you.
✅ With the right login details and invite, you’ll be ready to start connecting with your future classmates!
