Any user can request for their account to be permanently deleted from our systems. All you need to do is go into your profile within Unibuddy Community and you will see the option at the bottom to “click here” to request account deletion.
Currently, Unibuddy does not support the selective deletion of individual university profiles associated with an account. If you wish to remove profiles linked to specific universities, the only available option is to delete your entire Unibuddy account and create a fresh one. Please consider this carefully as it means losing access to all data and settings connected to the account.
Once you click on this purple text, you will be asked to confirm that you want to permanently delete your account. This action will delete your account from all Unibuddy systems, meaning that you will no longer be able to log into our Community, Chat or Events products. Once the request has been made, your account will be permanently deleted within 72 hours.
NB: If you are not a Unibuddy Community member but would like to request for your account to be deleted, please follow the instructions in this article.
Important Considerations
No Selective Deletion: If you have multiple university profiles, all of them must be deleted by removing the entire account.
Data Loss: Account deletion is irreversible. All data, including chats and saved preferences, will be permanently erased. Be sure to back up any information you may need before proceeding.
If you have made a mistake and do not want us to delete your account, please contact the Unibuddy Support team at [email protected]
Troubleshooting While Updating Profiles
If you encounter any issues managing or removing your account, here are additional tips:
Restart Devices: After taking account actions, restarting your device can ensure that updates reflect correctly.
Reinstall the App: Uninstalling and reinstalling the Unibuddy app can resolve technical glitches that may arise after account updates or deletions. Ensure you have your login credentials handy for re-login.
