How is an Ambassador's Time Spent calculated?

An overview of how Ambassador tasks and activities are tracked and recorded in their Time Sheets

Time Spent allows you to track and monitor Ambassador input, allocate resources and budget (if applicable), and spot patterns in engagement and activity.

You are able to view your Ambassador's Time Spent in your University Dashboard - by navigating to the Timesheet tab, located under the Buddies drop-down menu.



For a more detailed description of which Ambassador activity is tracked, see below:

  • Time spent on Chat conversations (Web/Mobile App): Any activity on the Ambassador Dashboard or Unibuddy Ambassador app such as focusing, typing, mouse movements, or mouse clicks start the timer, which in turn calculates the time spent. If the user is idle for 2 seconds, then the time spent calculation stops. Any other activity like tab switching, window switching, browsing the conversation (scrolling/reading historical chats, etc.) is not included in the Time Spent calculation.

  • Time spent on written Content: All Blog activities such as writing titles, selecting Topics, adding images, and writing Blog content will start the timer to calculate the time spent. If the user is idle for 10 seconds on the Content page, then the Time Spent calculation stops. Any other activity like tab switching, or window switching is not included in the Time Spent calculation.

  • Time spent on video Content: Within the Unibuddy Ambassador app, your Ambassadors are able to film short, Reels-style videos, and submit these directly to you for approval. Time spent recording these bitesize videos, writing titles and descriptions of their videos, and choosing a Topic to categorise it under, are all tracked and logged in the Ambassador's Time sheet.

  • Time spent on Community (Unibuddy Ambassador App): The total duration of time that an Ambassador spends messaging within your Community - in public groups, private groups, and DMs - as well as creating and posting Polls and Updates. Time spent monitoring a Community is not recorded under Time Spent.

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Ambassador Time Spent is not recorded for Community participation on desktop. Community Time Spent is only automatically tracked and recorded via the Unibuddy Ambassador app.

PLEASE NOTE: Ambassadors have the ability to add their own research time in both the browser version of the Ambassador Dashboard, and the Timesheet tab of the Unibuddy Ambassador app. This will appear under the Research log tab in the Timesheet.
