Troubleshooting: I can’t log in or I’m having issues with my account

Having trouble logging in, seeing a blank page, or getting stuck on the Unibuddy logo? Try the steps below.

1. Check you’re using the correct ambassador email address

Your Unibuddy Ambassador account is linked to the email address your institution invited. This is often your official university or school email.

If you have multiple email addresses and are unsure which is associated with your account, please reach out to your Unibuddy Admin to confirm.

We sometimes see Ambassadors try to log in using a personal email address, which won’t work if your account was created with an institutional one.

2. Reset your ambassador password

If you’re unsure about your password, or are seeing a message that says “You already have an existing account”, try resetting your password here

You should receive an email with instructions to create a new password. If you don’t see it, please check your spam or junk folder.

3. If you’re an ambassador logging in on desktop

  • Make sure you’re using the correct login page

  • Use Google Chrome for the best experience

  • Clear your browser cache

  • Try logging in using an incognito / private window

These steps often resolve issues where the page goes blank or freezes after signing in.

4. If you’re an ambassador logging in using the app

First, check that you’re using the Unibuddy Ambassador app, not the Unibuddy Student app.

If you are using the correct app:

  • Delete the Unibuddy Ambassador app from your device

  • Reinstall it from the App Store or Google Play

  • Log back in

Most app-related issues can be fixed with a reinstall. It’s also worth checking whether the same issue happens on desktop, as this helps narrow things down.

5. Not receiving ambassador notifications?

If you’re using the app:

  • Reinstall the Unibuddy Ambassador app

  • Check your device notification settings allow alerts for the app (banners, sounds, and alerts enabled)

  • Make sure background activity is enabled

    • iOS: Settings → General → Background App Refresh

    • Android: App info → Battery → Allow background activity

  • Log out and back in to refresh your session
