How do I switch Universities on the Unibuddy App?

How to talk to Ambassadors from multiple schools or universities on your Unibuddy app

Written by Amy Gray

The Unibuddy Student app is your one-stop shop for chatting with Student or Staff Ambassadors, and viewing Content created by Ambassadors at the schools you're interested in.

One of the best things about it is that you can chat with Ambassadors from more than one institution - which is very useful as you make the decision on which schools or unis you might apply to.

You can use the same Unibuddy account to chat with ambassadors from multiple universities or colleges, there’s no need to create a new account each time!

How do I add another university?

Each university or college has their own methods when it comes to structuring their website.

  1. Visit that university’s website

    1. Find their Unibuddy Chat platform (often called “Chat to a student” or “Chat with an ambassador”)

    2. Search 'Unibuddy' on their website

    3. Look for pop ups featuring Ambassadors on key pages - such as Course pages or Student Life

  2. If you already have a Unibuddy account, click Sign in instead

  3. Log in using your existing Unibuddy email address and password

Once you’ve signed in, that university will automatically appear in your Unibuddy app.

How do I switch between universities in the app?

  1. Open the Unibuddy app and log in

  2. From the Home tab, select the arrow next to the university name at the top of the screen

  3. Swipe or tap the arrows to move between the universities you’ve connected with

You’ll then see that university’s ambassadors, chats, and content.

Things to Remember

  • Always use the same login method and email address to avoid creating duplicate accounts

  • If you signed up with Google or Apple, continue using that same option when logging in

  • You may see a slightly different Home experience depending on whether the university has invited you to a Community

Can’t find a university on Unibuddy?

Not all universities currently use Unibuddy Chat. If you can’t find it on their website, you may wish to contact the university directly to ask if they offer Unibuddy.
