πͺ The Main Platform
This is the main event - where you showcase your Student and Staff Ambassadors, and where prospects can sign up to chat with them, thus building an authentic relationship with your institution! We measure the number of visitors who sign up to chat with an ambassador on Unibuddy as your Sign-up Conversion Rate.
We recommend dedicating an entire page of your site to your main Chat platform widget. Many institutions will call this webpage Chat to a Student.
π¬ Your Platform blurb
A key consideration is the text, or 'blurb' above your Chat platform - explaining what it's for, and why a prospect might use it. This is useful for signposting away from your Student Ambassadors - for example, admissions, visa, or scholarship queries - and for emphasising what your Ambassadors ARE here for - questions around student life, extracurricular activities, lived experiences, moving away from home for the first time, their course/program, and how they have found life in your city/town.
The best 'blurbs' are concise, clear, and give an alternative option if a student has an admissions related query which would be outside a Student Ambassador's remit, such as an email address for your Admissions enquiries inbox.
Remember that we also have our AI Unibuddy Assistant, which can field queries and pass valid, qualified questions to your ambassadors - AI centred around real experiences, and directing to a human voice.
π Where should I embed my Unibuddy Chat platform?
The page housing your Unibuddy Chat platform should be 'high up' in the architecture of your website - we would recommend no more than 2 clicks away from your home page. This means that the web address for your Unibuddy Chat platform will be shorter - making it easier to navigate and find by students, and easier for you to share.
It should also be within an area of your website that makes sense to prospective students - somewhere that they would be likely to visit to find out more about what you offer. Examples of this might be sections within your web structure like 'Study', 'Student Life', or 'Our Courses'. This makes navigation much more intuitive for users.
Example: youruni.ac.uk/study/unibuddy
β‘οΈ What to do next?
On your "Go Live" day, make sure you share the URL with your Customer Success Manager at Unibuddy. This will ensure all notifications and traffic drivers redirect to the main platform widget seamlessly, and that your Analytics will be tracked.
If, after launch, you change your mind about the location of your main Unibuddy Chat platform, just share the new link with your Customer Success Manager, and we can update it on our end.
πΏ How do I embed the Chat platform on our website?
Just a few simple lines of code are all it takes to start the embedding process.
