👋 Welcome to Unibuddy!

An overview of your Unibuddy Ambassador training programme

Written by Amy Gray

You're about to become one of the most important voices your university has - a real student, sharing a real picture of what it's actually like to study at your university. Prospective students trust you in a way they'll never trust a prospectus. No pressure, but also: have fun with it!

A few things to know before you get started:

The Getting Started section of the Ambassador Help Centre contains your self-paced ambassador training programme. This programme has been developed to equip you with everything you need to be the best Ambassador you can be - and we promise it won't take you long to complete. We'll cover everything from setting up your profile to messaging best practices; staying safe online to filming TikTok-style videos.

Our training programme is made up of three tiers:

  • Foundations

  • Skills

  • Leadership (optional)

Each tier has development tracks to arm you with the skills and expertise you'll need. You should complete the Foundations and Skills tiers before beginning your role as a Unibuddy Ambassador. The Leadership tier is optional and covers mentoring new ambassadors, and navigating complex conversations - you can ask your University Supervisor if they would like you to complete this tier.

The training is designed to be worked through step by step at your own pace. Each development track contains a couple of articles, short videos, and some optional exercises.
