Becoming a Unibuddy Ambassador is exciting - you’ll be the friendly face (and voice!) that prospective students connect with as they make some of the biggest decisions of their lives. Here's everything you need to know to get set up, from your first invite to a profile that actually gets you noticed.

Receiving your invite
Ambassador spots aren't something you sign up for directly - they start with an invitation from your university's Unibuddy Admin. Not every university partners with Unibuddy, and even where they do, opportunities can vary, so the best first step is reaching out to the relevant team at your university to find out more.
Once you've been invited, keep an eye on your inbox for the invitation email. This will come from [email protected]. Click Create your account to start building your Ambassador profile.
🤔 If you're expecting an email invite and don't receive one, check your junk/spam/social folders first. If it's not there, double check with your university supervisor that the email address they have for you is correct. Still not receiving the invite? See this guide for more.
Building a profile that stands out
Your profile is the first thing students see, and it's often what convinces them to hit "Chat with..." and message you in the first place. So don't be shy - the more you share, the more relatable you'll be.
A strong profile includes...
Field | What to know |
Your profile photo | Just you, clearly visible. JPEG, PNG or GIF are accepted. See this guide to creating a GIF profile image. |
Full name | Only your first name is shown to students. We also won't display your email address. |
City of origin | Helps students filter and search. |
Language(s) spoken + country flag(s) | Helps students connect with you on a cultural level. You can add a second country flag is you hold dual nationality. |
Level of study | Choose whether you are undergraduate/bachelors, postgraduate/graduate, or any other level relevant to your institution. |
Year of study | Where you're currently at in your studies. |
Degree type | This is not an option in all sign-up forms, and depends on your university. You can ask your university supervisor for more info. |
Current area of study | The course, subject or degree you are currently studying. Choose from your university's course list - ask your university supervisor if yours is missing. |
Favourite courses | The classes, electives, or modules you enjoy the most. This gives a real flavour of your subject. We recommend you update this at least annually. |
Previous qualifications | Any earlier courses you've taken or qualifications you hold. |
Hobbies and interests | The stuff that makes you, you! Start typing to see options, or free type to add something new. |
Clubs and societies | Any societies you're part of at university. Check I'm not part of any societies if you do not belong to a student club or society. |
About Me | Your introduction, or bio - a window into who you are and why a student would want to message you. At least 150 characters, so make it count! |
Custom fields | Your university supervisor may add extra fields, depending on your institution. |
You can edit your profile at any time via your Ambassador Dashboard — so if you think of something better to add later, go for it.
