Coming Soon (w/c 11th May)
We’re currently putting the finishing touches in place ahead of release.
What are Micro-surveys and how do they work in Community?
MicroSurveys are designed to confirm or challenge assumptions quickly, without adding burden.
They allow you to ask short, focused questions directly to students while they are already engaging with your Community. This helps you quickly validate what your data is already suggesting, without the need for long, time-consuming surveys or external tools.
MicroSurveys are currently available within Unibuddy Community (not Unibuddy Chat), where students are most actively engaging.
Why use Micro-Surveys?
Universities often have strong hypotheses about what is driving student decisions, but limited ways to validate them quickly.
MicroSurveys help you:
Confirm or challenge assumptions from conversation and benchmarking data
Gather feedback at the moment students are actively engaging
Close the gap between insight and action
MicroSurveys are the first iteration of a wider capability focused on helping you turn insight into action.
How to create a Micro-Survey
You can create and manage MicroSurveys from the Surveys tab in your University Dashboard.
When setting up a survey:
You can add 1 –3 questions
You can choose from:
Multiple choice (up to 5 options)
Single select
Free text
You can add a title
You can define a start and end date
You can schedule surveys in advance (up to a year in the future)
Surveys can be deactivated
Only one MicroSurvey can be live at a time, to keep the student experience focused.
Where do Micro-Surveys appear for students?
Micro-Surveys are shown directly in the Student App
All questions must be answered before submitting
Students can dismiss the survey, and it will not be shown again
This ensures feedback is captured in the moment, rather than relying on follow-up emails or external surveys.
Where to view survey responses
Survey responses are available in the Surveys section of your university dashboard, alongside your existing insight sources.
This allows you to:
Compare MicroSurvey feedback with conversation trends
Use results alongside benchmarking data
Build a more complete picture of student sentiment
Things to be aware of
Micro-Surveys are currently available in Community only (not Chat)
You cannot currently target specific communities to send the survey to
Only one survey can be live at a time
Students will not receive reminders for incomplete surveys
Surveys are designed to be lightweight and in-the-moment, not long-form research
Student Confidence scoring questions will remain in place, with Micro-Surveys providing an additional way to gather feedback.
