These insights help you identify trends, optimise engagement, and demonstrate the value of Unibuddy.
How to Generate Insights
Log into your University Dashboard
Go to Insights → Applications
Select the Year of entry
Select the Month of entry
Copy the list of applicant email addresses for that intake period, (separated by commas).
These email addresses will be anonymised automatically.
For first-time users, the landing page will display an introductory video about the tool. You would then click Start here to proceed.
You can paste large lists of email addresses, and there is no set maximum. The system processes email addresses in secure batches of 500 to avoid storing or transmitting applicant data. This means large datasets may take longer to process, but you do not need to break them into smaller files.
Large datasets may take longer to process, so keep the tab open until processing completes if you're uploading thousands of records.
Click Generate data.
The Unibuddy system will then process the dataset, this process may take a few minutes.
PLEASE NOTE: If any of these email addresses fail the format definition, the Unibuddy system will display a message and only process the ones with the validated format.
Once this process is complete, select the Review Results button to view the insights generated.
How We Generate These Insights
The tool compares your uploaded applicant email addresses with registered Unibuddy user accounts.
A lower match rate may occur if:
Applicants used a different email address to apply
An account was anonymised upon request
The student engaged with Unibuddy but never created an account
When can I upload data?
You can upload enrolment data at any time as the tool is available all year. However, the insights are most valuable when you have a full recruitment cycle’s worth of data, as it allows you to measure conversion and impact more accurately based on the previous year.
Data Usage Information
We take privacy seriously.
We do not store external applicant data in our systems.
The email addresses you upload are processed locally in your browser and are never transmitted or stored in Unibuddy systems.
Only anonymised match-counts are retained.
Your institution’s data is never visible to other organisations.
