In this article, you’ll learn how to use your Bi-weekly Insights Digest to understand student conversations, identify engagement trends, and turn data into practical actions that support your recruitment and conversion goals.

At a glance

  • Delivered every two weeks, summarising engagement across your Chat and Student App.

  • Highlights student sentiment, emerging themes, and top questions to help you respond quickly to what matters most to prospects.

  • Designed to help universities refine communications, empower ambassadors, and align marketing with real student interests.

How often you’ll receive it

You’ll receive your Insights Digest every two weeks, giving you a quick snapshot of how students are engaging across your Unibuddy platform.
Each digest highlights key engagement data, emerging trends, and students’ top concerns, helping you make data-led decisions that strengthen recruitment and conversion.

💡 If you haven't received the Insights Digest, please check your notification settings in the University Dashboard. Make sure that “Chat summary insights” is switched on under Settings at https://university.unibuddy.co/settings.

What’s in your digest?

Engagement Overview

See how actively students are engaging in the last two weeks, with:

  • Leads Generated – prospective students who signed up via widgets, traffic drivers, or the Student App.

  • Total Messages – total messages exchanged by prospects within those conversations.

  • Conversations – total number of chats held between prospects and Student or Staff Ambassadors.

Note: There may be a difference between the numbers shown in this report and those on the University Dashboard. This is because the dashboard’s engagement analytics reflect only “active” conversations (where messages were exchanged), while this report includes the total number of conversations that took place during the defined time period.

These metrics give a clear view of how many students are engaging and how active those conversations are.

Trends Over Time

Shows the percentage change in leads, conversations, and messages compared to the previous two-week period.

Use this data to:

  • Spot spikes or dips in engagement.

  • Link trends to specific actions such as open days, campaign launches, or application deadlines.

  • Identify peak periods of interest to time your marketing and ambassador outreach effectively.

Students’ Top of Mind

Understand what students care about most right now.

  • Top Recurring Themes – key discussion topics (e.g., scholarships, accommodation, visas) with message volume.

  • AI Summary of Conversations – a short digest highlighting student sentiment, needs, and takeaways.

  • Common Questions – up to three of the most frequently asked questions per theme, giving you fast visibility of the issues that matter most.

This gives you the why behind engagement, not just the numbers — helping you act where it counts.

How can you use these insights?

Improve recruitment strategy

  • Identify peak engagement periods and align campaigns or ambassador activities accordingly.

  • Track conversion intent signals, such as increased questions about applications or deadlines.

  • Re-engage high-interest markets with timely, relevant communication.

  • Encourage ambassadors to create authentic content (e.g., posts, blogs, or short videos) addressing recurring questions.
