Who owns user data on Unibuddy?

When a user; prospective student, student ambassador or staff member signs up to use Unibuddy, the University becomes the owner of the data.

This data includes the users:

  • Personal profile.

  • Their conversations.

  • Contributions made; such as "Blogs".

With regards to the personal data, under the GDPR:

The University = Data Controller

Unibuddy = Data Processor

โš ๏ธ As part of the contract between the University and Unibuddy, the University agrees that Unibuddy may use anonymised data for analysis in order to inform and develop future features for the platform and other products.
